Reconciliation Action Plans

Through the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) program, organisations develop business plans that document what they will do within their sphere of influence to contribute to reconciliation in Australia.

Reconciliation Action Plans

These RAPs outlines practical actions the organisation will take to build strong relationships and enhanced respect between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. A RAP also sets out the organisation’s aspirational plans to drive greater equality by pursuing sustainable opportunities.

Put simply, the RAP Program is about working with organisations across Australia to turn their good intentions into real actions.

Since we launched the RAP Program in 2006, the RAP community has grown considerably, from eight forward-thinking organisations in 2006 to hundreds of Australian businesses and institutions today. They include some of the largest private companies in Australia, government agencies at all levels, local councils, not-for-profit organisations, peak bodies, small businesses, and schools and universities.

Through participation in the RAP Program, organisations develop one of four distinct types of RAPs and on endorsement have access to the official RAP brand as well as a range of networking events, educational forums and online resources.
